Sam Ion is the single best resource tool you can find on All Inclusives. She knows more about them than pretty well anyone on this planet. She is well known, well respected, and writes informatively, interestingly and irreverently. She keeps readers up-to-date on specific resorts and on all inclusives in general. She knows what to look for, and tells you how to best keep your clients informed. LOVING CUBAThey just keep going back
22 MAY 2013: Charles and Theresa Vezina live just outside of Montreal, but they consider Cuba their second home. “ We’ve been 108 times “says Theresa “and always stay at a Melia. We fly first class with Air Canada and Air Canada Vacations, AND use the same travel agents. Cathy and Andrea at Carlson Wagonlit in St- Bruno Quebec are very good.”
NOT THE SAME OLDExcursions with a difference
10 MAY 2013: We've all had our share of so-called excursions and tours at various holiday destinations where dusty and rickety old busses hastily skimmed through a few famous attractions between long stops at gift shops and tourist traps. Well, here's one tour that doesn't do that. Now, you can book your clients knowing they will get value for their dollar plus - you get a commission.
SANDALS DOES IT AGAINA perfect property for the right travellers
24 APR 2013: Unlike Shakespeare ‘s story, there will be a happy ending for your clients -and you - if you book them into a Grand Riviera Romeo and Juliet Villa. Unlock the door and step into a completely private courtyard, with its own pool, waterfall, outdoor shower and hot tub. Comfy loungers are just off the living room, and two pool loungers are ready for lounging in the warm water. Your clients looking for pampered privacy will fall in love all over again.
SOUVENIRSIt takes all kinds
10 APR 2013: I lied! I told someone last week, that I don’t shop when I’m travelling, and then I looked around the house. In my office is a carving that I bought in Costa Rica, 25 years ago. On top of the cupboards are five handmade grass baskets from the Tarahumara natives in the Copper Canyon in Mexico. The black pottery vase in the family room comes from Honduras. The soap stone carvings in the living room are from Zimbabwe.
A MATTER OF TASTEWhat the client needs and wants
27 MAR 2013: Exercising in the community pool is always more interesting when some of the other participants are talking about travel. I stopped jumping up and down when one woman said “ I was just checking my two credit cards to see if there was $1,000 left on each one. Then I read the reviews and changed my mind.” The other one (who has never been anywhere) said, "well it is Mexico you know. " Don’t ya love it?
GET READYThey will be home soon
13 MAR 2013: Well, you’ve got them all off for Spring break. It wasn’t easy. I’ve been chatting with some of you, and of course the subject of shall we say “ difficult” clients came up. Here are some of the strange requests, and the complaints you have to look forward to when they come home.
A TASTE OF IT ALLDoes it get any better
27 FEB 2013: The most important reason for choosing a specific cruise, according to readers is the itinerary. Who knew? But perhaps I should have known, Costa’s Serena’s Western Mediterranean itinerary had me dreaming of places I’ve seen in movies, read about in novels, and yes, places I'd also seen before. To visit Italy, Sicily, Spain, and France in a week and only unpack once is fabulous.
FINALLY GOOD NEWSI loved my Costa Cruise
13 FEB 2013: I loved sailing around the Western Mediterranean on the Costa Serena. They delivered exactly what they promised at an amazing price. I started to laugh from the moment I set foot on the deck, and was still smiling when I sadly started down the gangplank on the way home.
HANGING WITH THE ROYALSWindsor has lots to offer
30 JAN 2013: Have you ever thought of suggesting Windsor as a place to stay a few days when your clients arrive in Britain? You can actually use Windsor as a base to stay; London is only 30 minutes on the train (from Windsor and Eton Central station to London Paddington).
STAY AWHILEA three star gem
02 JAN 2013: Once in a while I come across a little gem and love it so much I’m reluctant to share it with you, in case the price goes up when I want to go again.
