12 SEP 2011: Despite its expectations of a challenging 2012, Transat A.T. has set its sights set on a return to profitability with a new cost cutting plan that has also raised the possibility of staff layoffs. ``I can't say today if there will be any, or how many, but it's not excluded that there will be some, that's for sure,'' CEO Jean-Marc Eustache said Thursday during a conference call.
12 SEP 2011: Given the date, the “abundance of caution” was perhaps understandable as in two separate incidents, reports of air passengers acting suspiciously prompted authorities to scramble fighter jets to escort both American Airlines and Frontier Airlines jets into New York and Detroit respectively, on the 10th anniversary of 9/11. 12 SEP 2011: In Toronto, the stars come out in September. The Toronto Film Festival (TIFF) is in town and this year things are a little different with all the action centered downtown in the “Entertainment District” rather than at the usual Bloor Yorkville hotels and hangouts.
12 SEP 2011: What kind of man would spend nine years, make countless phone calls and several trans-Atlantic trips to bring a sculpture exhibit...to his winery? The same guy who would beat out developers for 600 acres of paradise with two and a half kilometres of gorgeous waterfront and plant vineyards not houses there.
