03 JUL 2012: Two men who allegedly tried to hijack a plane in China were beaten to death by passengers and crew, according to the state media. The men were part of a six-man gang who attempted to hijack a Tianjin Airlines flight bound for Urumqi last Friday.

Despite reports back in March that it had over a 100,000 unsold tickets and hotel rooms for the Olympics, Thomas Cook was adamant that it would not discount the prices. Now with just weeks to go, the company has halved the cost of some Olympic tickets in an effort to generate sales.
