04 APR 2012: The new World Trade Center, being built to replace the twin towers dramatically destroyed on September 11, 2001, is now 100 stories high. Within a couple of weeks it will grow another four feet, taking it higher than the Empire State Building, currently Manhattan’s highest skyscraper.
04 APR 2012: In an unusual attempt to prevent further disruptions to its flights, Iberia is suing its pilot and cabin crew unions for what it claims are illegal strikes. The Spanish carrier submitted two lawsuits to the Chamber for Social and Labour Matters at the National High Court.

His latest report says that while it has developed a rigorous aviation-safety system that meets international standards, the department falls short when it comes to inspecting high-risk flying operations.
04 APR 2012: Airplanes were grounded at the Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport (DWF) on Tuesday as heavy storms and tornadoes ripped through the area. American Airlines, which operates a hub at DFW, cancelled nearly all departures last evening and diverted at least 40 incoming flights. Passengers and airport employees were moved into shelters as the storm system spawned multiple funnel clouds. Flights at Dallas Love Field airport were also grounded. It is a big base for Southwest Airlines. That airline has canceled more than 45 flights in and out of the airport.

05 APR 2012: A Transportation Security Administrator was in the middle of a conversation with work colleagues at a JFK Airport terminal when she was interrupted by an American Airlines pilot who overheard her swearing and asked her to tone down the profanity. That didn’t sit well with the security worker who after a confrontation hurled a cup of hot coffee at him.
05 APR 2012: The Transat Discoveries team, along with 10 travel agents, returned from a Thailand familiarization trip, which took place from March 19 to 29. The Thailand Complete tour featured major attractions in Bangkok, Ayuthaya, Chiang Mai, Cha Am and the River Kwai.
05 APR 2012: A German federal court has upheld a ban on flights between 11 pm and 5 am at Frankfurt Airport, the country's busiest and one of Europe's major hubs. Frankfurt last year inaugurated a fourth runway as part of efforts to increase its capacity.
