20 APR 2012: A distracted captain on a flight from Darwin Australia to Singapore neglected to lower the landing gear. His first officer twice suggested he press the ‘missed approach altitude’ button, but the captain didn’t hear. Descending within 500 feet of the runway the captain was still pre-occupied with his cell phone.
