20 MAR 2012: A wildlife official says a fire on Kenya's tallest mountain has consumed hundreds of acres of forest and is forcing thousands of animals to flee. Kenya Wildlife Service spokesman Paul Udoto said Monday that tourists in lodges on the slope of Mount Kenya are safe from the fire which started Thursday, but elephants are among the many animals fleeing the flames. Italian prosecutors have opened an investigation into the disappearance of the bell from the capsized cruise ship.  Franco Gabrielli, Italy's national official for search and salvage efforts, told reporters Thursday when he visited Giglio island the bell disappeared several days ago.
