28 FEB 2008: Travel Professionals International (TPI), Canada’s largest network of home-based agents, is pleased to announce the addition of Phil Sproul as executive vice president and chief operating officer for the company and its operations.

With more than 20 years in the Canadian travel industry, Sproul comes to TPI after holding positions in sales and marketing at Canadian Pacific Airlines/Canadian Airlines, managing director of Canadian sales for American Airlines, VP and GM of Intra Travel Corporation, and most recently as vice president sales and customer experience for Air Canada Vacations.

“TPI is a progressive, growing organization that has become the benchmark of the home-based retail model in Canada. I am thrilled to have the opportunity to further develop TPI’s position as the segment leader by offering current and future associates innovative programs and services to improve their bottom line," said Sproul.

Sproul will be responsible for the overall operations of the company with a mandate to continue building support service standards and strategic planning within the TPI organization. Along with the TPI Management Team, Sproul will be developing programmes that will allow TPI head office to provide TPI Associates with greater and increased opportunities for the fiscal health of their business through new sales programme offerings.

“Phil is an industry veteran with the know-how and business savvy to work with our current team in taking TPI to the next level for the future," exclaimed Morris Chia, TPI president and CEO. “We’re very excited to have him on board and welcome him to the TPI Family.”
